On Tuesday the Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge Community Council held our AGM. Unfortunately, our chairman Martin Crook had to step down due to relocating but that gave us an opportunity to vote in a new chairperson. We take this opportunity to give our thanks and gratitude to Martin for all the work he has done for the community council over the past few years as chairman.
Please welcome Gordon Smith to the position –

I had the honour and privilege to be elected Chairman of Linlithgow & Linlithgow Bridge Community Council on the 23rd of April. I succeeded Martin Crook who has done a sterling job but is moving out of the County so becomes ineligible. However, we aren’t letting him go completely as we have elected him an Associate member.
I have lived in Linlithgow for 38 years since moving from Dundee and have thoroughly enjoyed it all.
Currently, I am about to give up my Chairmanship of Linlithgow & District 41 Club on May 1st having served the required year.
I have been married to my wife Rosemary 47 years this year and she sings in The Linlithgow Ladies Choir. I sang with The Linlithgow Rugby Club Male Voice Choir for many years till 2018.
I can only pledge to the people of Linlithgow & Linlithgow Bridge that I will do my very best to represent you as and when it is required so we together can continue to make our town a great place to live.
I am sure you will all join the rest of the community council in supporting Gordon as he takes us forward for the next year (and possibly many more!)
