Representatives of Loudoun Productions Limited attended the Linlithgow and Linlithgow Bridge Community Council meeting on Tuesday 22nd August to give details of the proposed filming. The film will be shot across a number of locations in Scotland in the next 4 months.
Loudoun will be shooting in Linlithgow on two occasions, first on the 29th & 30th August and later on the 21st & 22nd of September.
It is great that ventures of this type are attracted to Linlithgow as they bring benefits to the town in terms of spending by production crews at the time of filming and more importantly for the future the film will bring visitors to the town who wish to see where the scenes were shot.
However, ventures of this type will be disruptive in the short term.
The Kirkgate will be closed from midnight on Sunday 27th August until midnight on Friday 1st September. The Palace will be closed 27th August to 31st August, and St Michaels will be closed from the afternoon of the 27th August until Friday 1st September. All dates inclusive.
The Vennel Car Park will be closed from 6:00pm on the 28th August until 10:00pm on the 30th August. Signage will be erected in the areas concerned.
Loudoun will be using the old Jet station site on the Edinburgh Road for the majority of their parking.
The Community Council agreed to the use of a proportion of the top deck of the Vennel car park for the parking of horse boxes and other vehicles which need to be adjacent to the filming.
We will be observing how things go on 29th and 30th August and will feed back to the Loudoun Productions team any problems so that these can be mitigated for the second visit.
Any comments to the Community Council can be fed back through our contact page.
