2019 has been a busy year with all the usual planning applications, problems
with the gap sites on the High Street and what seemed interminable replacement
of the lighting columns and other road works in the High St causing severe
On the plus side, the Town Centre Fund gave the Community Council £3500 to
re-establish the Tourist/Visitor Centre (TVC) in the Burgh Halls plus another
£10,000 to promote Linlithgow together with Visit West Lothian, Visit
Scotland and other organisations in the town. Recruitment of volunteers for the
TVC is gathering pace and training will begin in the New Year.
Heartfelt thanks must go to our outgoing Chair Martin Crook who by virtue of
moving house to the north side of the Loch but out of West Lothian had to stand
down at the AGM in April.
We extend a special thanks to those members of the public who attend our
meetings to ask very pertinent questions.
A personal thank you to all the members of the Council for all your help and
advice since I took over from Martin.
