Do We Value Community Policing?

During the past few years we have enjoyed the services of PC Andrew Murray and PC Neill Drummond as our community police officers. Andrew and Neill provide policing that is visible, accessible and responsive to the needs of the Linlithgow community.

They regularly report in the Black Bitch and hold surgeries at the Vennel. In a recent survey we said that our priorities were reducing anti-social behaviour, tackling substance abuse and traffic safety. Andrew and Neill provide law enforcement on the boundary between regular policing, social care and traffic management which is why they are 50% funded by West Lothian Council.

In the “Transforming Your Council” consultation West Lothian Council are proposing to save money by discontinuing their contribution to Community Policing.

If you value your Community Policing then complete the “Transforming Your Council” consultation (item 4e). West Lothian Council has to make £73m savings over the next 5 years and is seeking your views. Find out more here and take part in their public consultation. Remember the consultation ends on Sunday 12th November 2017.

Your Councillors have yet to vote on these proposals so why not let them know your view on the proposed cuts to Community Policing by using the form below:

This form will automatically submit to all 3 Councillors!
